I confess, I was a very early adopter in the 2007 cultish iPhone movement -- and I paid the price.

I didn’t camp out and wait in line for seven hours or anything, but I did have the phone within about 15 days of it being on the market. I loved just about everything about it – the instant Gmail retrieval, the weather function, the built-in iPod...but I didn’t love that, try as my IT guys might, the thing just did not work with my Outlook at the office (sigh).

So, I picked myself up, brushed my Blackberry off and started using an inferior tool all over again.

BUT! Now Apple has released the iPhone version 2.0. It’s not actually the new phone (that comes out tomorrow) but it’s the new software that allows it do to all sorts of cool techish things. That’s cool, but the only thing I care about is that it now works with my office Outlook!

Gone are the days of my having to use the device that the man who tried to steal my Nashville Predators built.

I’m back. I’ve got a touch screen and Barry Manilow in my pocket, and I’m not afraid to use 'em. Yay, me!

PS -- I’ll let you know how the new Mobile Me works as soon as Apple releases it. Fingers crossed it will be very soon!

UPDATE! (7.11.08)

I really don't have words for how freakishly fantastic this new iPhone Microsoft Exchange wireless sync feature is. I am speechless, actually. My contacts and calendar entries sync wirelessly -- within mere seconds! I no longer have to manually dock and sync to ensure what is on my computer is reflected on the device! Long live the iPhone! Long live the iPhone!
